Community Impact Groups

To strengthen our engagement with communities across the country and to focus on all of the diverse communities we serve, the Association offers community impact groups. Meeting regularly, community impact groups enable staff to connect with others who share common experiences, goals and interests.

We offer the following community impact groups (CIGs):

  • Asian American and Native Hawaiian/Pacific Islander CIG meets every other month on the 2nd Monday of the month at 1 p.m. CT
  • Indigenous CIG meets every other month the 4th Monday of the month at 3 p.m. CT
  • Black/African American CIG meets the 4th Friday of each month at noon CT
  • Hispanic/Latino CIG meets the 1st first Friday of each month at 1 p.m. CT
  • Pride Council (LGBTQ+) CIG meets the 2nd Friday of each month at noon CT
  • Rural CIG meets every other month on the 3rd Monday at 1 p.m. CT

Community impact groups establish spaces (literal and figurative) for individuals to meet and connect with others who have common experiences, goals and interests. While the focus is on outreach to our diverse communities, groups also enable us to bring some personal and professional development opportunities to our staff.
