LMS Manager (Business Operations Focus)
Position Summary:
The Learning Management System (LMS) Manager will oversee the operations, vendor management, and optimization of the Genius and D2L Brightspace systems within our Association. This role is pivotal in ensuring business operations, educational content delivery and organization, and learner experience is optimal to help grow reach and revenue. This position ensures that healthcare professionals, the public and organizations have access to engaging, accessible, and effective learning experiences that align with the Association’s mission and vision. The LMS Manager collaborates closely with IT, program leads, subject matter content experts, instructional designers and external partners to expand the reach and effectiveness of education and training initiatives.
Key Responsibilities:
- Deployment and Integration: Partner with the IT team to support technical deployment and integration of Genius and D2L Brightspace systems, while leading business-side operations support with internal stakeholders and vendor coordination to ensure platforms meet organizational goals and user experience standards.
- Vendor Relationships: Maintain strong relationships with LMS vendors to drive implementation of new capabilities that support revenue opportunities, and ensure systems continuously align with user and business needs.
- LMS Business Architect: Acts as a bridge between business strategy and its operational execution, ensuring that the organization is structured and operating in a way that achieves its intended outcomes. Translate business needs into technology solutions and roadmaps.
- System Management: Oversee the day-to-day client operations of the LMS platforms, including troubleshooting, reporting, updates, and maintenance with business operations, while ensuring smooth functionality and user satisfaction. Evaluate LMS effectiveness in driving engagement, user retention, and scalable program delivery. This role will work closely with IT to troubleshoot SSO, migration and integration with D2L or Genius.
- Support: Provides technical support to learners and administrators, troubleshooting issues, and ensuring a positive user experience with the learning systems. Develops and delivers standard operating procedures for managing the upload, configurations and functional business requirements of the platform for staff and users to maximize the utilization of LMS features and capabilities.
- Communication and Interpersonal Skills: Effectively communicates and interacts with cross functional teams, learners, instructors, and other stakeholdersSupport the onboarding of staff to the LMS ensuring that they have the access and training necessary to complete their tasks.
- Content Management: Assist with cross-functional team to add new content to the LMS and ensure learning content is structured to support the value of education catalog and individual course.
- Data Analysis: Monitor, analyze and develop reporting mechanisms to track the performance and impact of learning systems, using data insights to inform strategic decisions, measure business impact, and guide ongoing investment in the learning ecosystem.
- Compliance and Security: Ensure that LMS platforms comply with relevant regulations and standards, maintaining the security and privacy of user data.
- Process Design: Analyze, design, and improve business processes to enhance efficiency and effectiveness and develop solutions that aligns with the Association's overall CRM strategy.
- Stakeholder Collaboration: Serve as the primary point of contact for internal and external stakeholders regarding learning systems operations. Work closely with various departments, including IT and educational teams, to ensure the LMS delivers value across business lines, supports key product strategies, and creates exceptional learner experiences.
Qualifications:
- Education: Bachelor's degree in Business, Education, Information Technology, or a related field. Master's degree preferred.
- Experience: Minimum of 5 years of experience in LMS management, with demonstrated success implementing and scaling learning platforms to support business growth and strategic outcomes.
- Skills:
- Proficiency in SIS platforms and LMS platforms while managing course manager, learner and purchaser experience.(Preferably but not required - Genius and LMS platform D2L Brightspace
- Ability to align business strategies with operational execution, ensuring that the organization's capabilities support its objectives.
- Able to translate business needs into technology solutions and roadmaps.
- Lead cross-functional project teams and committees to implement business requirements
- Manages risk by evaluating project impacts and escalating issues and risks appropriately.
- Familiarity working in a start-up, fast-paced environment.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Proven ability to collaborate across marketing, product, and education teams to drive adoption and performance.
- Strong analytical skills and experience with data reporting and analysis to generate actionable insights.
- Knowledge of compliance and security standards related to LMS.
- Experience using data and learner feedback to inform business decisions and strategic investment in learning tools
