Director of Mission Engagement Programs (Recognition)

The Director of Mission Engagement Programs  (Recognition) leads strategic initiatives to advance brain health and dementia-capable policies, services, and practices in the workplace and healthcare ecosystem. This role focuses on empowering organizations to strengthen community-based support systems, build inclusive partnerships, and drive public health innovation. This program will manage the dissemination of resources and recognize organizational excellence.

Responsibilities:

  • Program Leadership
    • Develop and implement the vision, goals, and objectives for creating a dementia-capable community.
    • Oversee the development and execution of programs that support organizations in implementing program
    • Lead cross-sector collaborations among government agencies, nonprofits, healthcare providers, and local organizations.
  • Stakeholder Engagement
    • Build partnerships with advisory boards, community leaders, and service providers to promote brain health and dementia awareness and inclusion.
    • Collaborate with key organization stakeholders, including employers, healthcare systems, public health, and community organizations to drive the adoption of brain health awareness and dementia-capable guidelines and practices.
    • Conduct the vetting process for organization applications and manage lead generation program for Corporate Initiatives and the Chapters.
    • Facilitate communication among diverse stakeholders to align strategies and leverage resources.
  • Training and Capacity Building
    • Lead initiatives for holding organizations accountable for sharing resources, workforce training, quality improvement activities, and integrating technology solutions to enhance access to organization resources.
    • Direct the development and delivery of staff, volunteer, and public training on brain health and dementia capable care.
    • Act as a liaison to promote ongoing professional education for teams involved in dementia care and community engagement.
  • Community Outreach and Advocacy
    • Ensure organization resources are updated and available on the organization dashboards to help encourage channel promotion strategies in the community.
    • Coordinate community awareness campaigns to promote brain health and early detection of dementia and comprehensive community-based services.
    • Connect organizations with individuals and families to community resources and services.
    • Advocate for policies that improve access to brain health and quality dementia care, particularly in underserved areas.
  • Program Evaluation and Quality Assurance
    • Manage community engagement strategies with field leadership and track partnership metrics.
    • Monitor program performance and impact through data collection, analysis, and reporting.
    • Develop systems for continuous quality improvement and adjust strategies based on measurable outcomes.

Required Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s or master’s degree in public health, healthcare administration, gerontology, social work, health administration, or a related field.
  • Proven experience in managing public health or aging services programs, preferably with a dementia focus.
  • Demonstrated success in leading initiatives focused on healthcare quality improvement and community health outcomes.
  • Strong understanding of dementia care and the specific needs associated with managing care for individuals with Alzheimer’s and related dementias.
  • Demonstrated ability to lead multidisciplinary teams and manage large-scale projects or initiatives with diverse stakeholders..
  • Knowledge of local, state, and federal dementia policy and resources.
  • Ability and willingness to travel up to 25% .  Must have valid driver’s license.

  • Excellent leadership and organizational skills, with the ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously and meet deadlines.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with a focus on developing practical solutions that improve care delivery.
  • Effective communication and negotiation skills, capable of building and maintaining strong relationships with various stakeholders.
  • Knowledge of current healthcare technology and data management systems, with the ability to leverage these tools to enhance program delivery and outcomes.

Position Grade & Compensation: Grade 511 The Alzheimer's Association’s good faith expectation for the salary range for this role is between  $124,500–$148,500

 This position is eligible for a bonus based on both individual and organizational performance, up to 6%
