Job Description
The Senior Director, Long-Term & Community-Based Care Engagement provides strategic leadership to expand the Alzheimer’s Association’s impact in long-term and community-based settings, driving product development, sales growth, and provider engagement. This role leads the go-to-market strategy for the Association’s long-term care product line, increasing adoption, revenue, and industry influence through partnerships, training, and professional development offerings. As the Association's subject matter expert on long term care, the Senior Director represents the Association in media, conferences, and industry discussions, advocating for evidence-based dementia care. They oversee and expand the Dementia Care Provider Roundtable, ensuring its growth as a key industry forum. With a focus on market expansion, sales strategy, and thought leadership, this position is ideal for a visionary leader with expertise in healthcare product strategy, business development, and dementia care models.
Essential Job Functions:
Serve as Project ECHO Subject Matter Expert for Long-Term Care
- Act as the primary expert and advocate for Project ECHO in long-term care, ensuring it aligns with the Association’s broader quality care initiatives.
- Work closely with the Project ECHO team to expand program adoption, measure impact, and identify opportunities for innovation and scaling.
- Partner with sales, marketing, and product teams to enhance value proposition and drive provider engagement and revenue-generating models.
Drive Provider Engagement and Expansion in Long-Term Care
- In collaboration with the Senior Director, Care Professional Services, develop and execute a targeted engagement strategy to increase provider adoption of Alzheimer's Association-supported best practices.
- Leverage market research and provider insights to tailor solutions that enhance participation, retention, and product utilization.
- Identify and cultivate strategic partnerships with key long-term care networks and associations to accelerate reach and influence.
Lead, Expand, and Monetize the Dementia Care Provider Roundtable
- Provide visionary leadership and oversight for the Dementia Care Provider Roundtable, ensuring it remains the premier industry forum for advancing dementia care.
- Develop and implement a growth strategy, incorporating membership expansion, premium offerings, sponsorship opportunities, and fee-based services.
- Drive data-informed discussions and leverage the roundtable as a platform for influencing care standards and policy.
Develop and implement a comprehensive go-to-market (GTM) strategy that integrates sales, marketing, product development, and customer engagement into a unified approach.
- Lead the creation and execution of a sales and marketing strategy focused on expanding the adoption of the Association’s long-term care product line.
- Define key revenue streams, including training programs, certification, membership models, and new product development.
- Build a sales pipeline and pricing model to drive sustainable revenue while ensuring mission impact.
- Collaborate with corporate partnerships and development teams to identify sponsorship and funding opportunities.
Serve as an Internal & External Expert on Long-Term and Community-Based Care
- Represent the Association as a leading voice in dementia care, providing expertise through media interviews, thought leadership, and participation in national task forces and workgroups.
- Deliver high-impact presentations and educational sessions for industry leaders, policymakers, and provider networks.
- Develop content, publications, and training materials that enhance the Association’s credibility and position it as the go-to resource for dementia care best practices.
Build & Implement a High-Impact Conference Strategy to Drive Awareness, Growth & Engagement in Long-Term Care
- Design and execute a conference strategy that maximizes brand visibility, provider engagement, and product promotion within the long-term care sector.
- Identify key national and regional conferences where the Alzheimer’s Association should have a presence through speaking engagements, exhibitor opportunities, and sponsorships.
- Develop a system to track conference ROI, ensuring attendance and sponsorship decisions align with growth and revenue objectives.
QUALIFICATIONS
Master’s degree in social services, aging, business or related field. Doctoral degree preferred.
Experience and Training:
- 10+ years’ experience working in long term care organizations in leadership roles
- 10+ years’ management experience
- 10+ years’ experience in person-centered care/culture change
- 10+ years’ experience in quality improvement in long-term and community-based care settings
- 10+ years’ experience leading and implementing nationwide campaigns
- 10+ years’ experience in regulatory and finance reform
- 10+ years’ experience in sales and marketing
Knowledge, Skills & Abilities:
- Extensive knowledge of dementia care in nursing homes, assisted living and community-based settings
- Expert in person-centered care/culture change delivery systems
- Expert in quality improvement implementation across delivery systems
- Deep understanding of the federal and state regulatory system for long-term and community-based care
- Exceptional and proven consensus building skills
- Proficient in managing complex relationships with external and internal stakeholders
- Demonstrated leader in product/market development
- Proven communicator and spokesperson on quality dementia care
- Ability to travel
- Nursing home administrator or assisted living manager license preferred

Full time based on 37.5 hours minimum per week
Position Grade: 513 (estimated salary range $160,000-$210,000)
