The Senior Specialist, Project ECHO (Extension for Community Healthcare Outcomes) supports operations of the Alzheimer’s Association’s Project ECHO Hub, including coordination of program initiatives and deliverables and serving as a lead facilitator for assigned teleECHO learning programs on dementia detection and care. They work closely with the Associate Director, Project ECHO to increase the Association’s capacity to organize and deliver ECHO learning programs.  

 

  

 

Project ECHO is a collaborative model of medical education and care management that empowers clinicians everywhere to provide better care to more people. Project ECHO uses video conferencing technology to link inter-disciplinary specialist teams with multiple front-line clinicians. The Project ECHO "Hub" in Chicago is the coordinating center for all of the Alzheimer’s Association’s "teleECHO" learning series, each of which focuses on a particular topic and type of participant, such as primary care physicians, with multiple learning participants serving as the "Spokes" in the learning model. Experts join the Hub as faculty, to mentor and share their expertise across a virtual network of Spokes via case-based learning, enabling clinicians to treat patients with complex conditions.   

 

  

 

This is a fully benefited, at-will, grant-funded position through June 30, 2021 with potential for longer employment.  

 

  

 

This position is based in Chicago, IL and reports to the Associate Director, Project ECHO.

 

  

 

ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS:  

 

   

 
     
  • Facilitates live, interactive teleECHO sessions and training activities to meet Spoke participant learning and improvement needs using the "all teach, all learn" ECHO concept  
  •  
  • Provides guidance and coaching to ECHO faculty in the implementation of assigned ECHO learning programs.  
  •  
  • Trains and assists Spoke learners, optimizing learning series participation and experience   
  •  
  • Provides both ongoing and day-to-day administrative and operational support for Hub team and Spoke participants; serves as liaison between Hub faculty and Spoke participants.   
  •  
  • Facilitates delivery of clinical/training content using a designated communication vehicle.   
  •  
  • Coordinates instructional course activities, which may include the logistics for distance delivery technologies.  
  •  
  • Coordinates with the diverse faculty of outside clinical, scientific, industry and other experts and Alzheimer’s Association staff to design and operate Project ECHO learning collaboratives.  
  •  
  • Collaborates with the Programs team to identify and achieve ECHO goals and objectives.  
  •  
  • Assists with development of tracking and evaluation programs to assist in the accomplishment of established ECHO goals and objectives.  
  •  
  • Collaborates with Hub team members on ECHO educational curriculum/materials.  
  •  
  • Coordinates the development, production and distribution of promotional plans and materials and ECHO course materials and schedules for assigned ECHO learning programs.

  • Executes surveys and feasibility studies for policy formation and improvement of services.   
  •  
  • Manages series’ CME process to ensure that learners receive credit and data are reported back to the appropriate accreditation bodies.

  • Coordinates with Association chapters, Home Office, and external partners on both promotion of and recruitment and selection for assigned ECHO learning programs.

  • Other projects and duties as assigned.

MINIUMUM REQUIREMENTS:  

 

   

 
     
  • Minimum of Bachelor’s degree in social work, public health, or related field. Master’s degree preferred  
  •  
  • 3-5 years’ progressive, professional experience in project management, health-related programs, training programs or similar experience, including experience with project planning, activity tracking, outcomes evaluation and reporting  
  •  
  • Exceptional ability to manage diverse teams to collaborate on successful project design and implementation, preferably with experience working with teams with high levels of skill and expertise  
  •  
  • Demonstrated ability to resolve ambiguities and divergent points of view to arrive at effective solutions  
  •  
  • Experience in working with health care providers is preferred 
  •  
  • Experience in instructional design and training implementation for adult learning preferred 
  •  
  • Experience interacting with internal and external stakeholders on high visibility projects preferred  
  •  
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills  
  •  
  • Excellent organizational and problem-solving skills  
  •  
  • Exceptional interpersonal communication, team-building and group facilitation skills  
  •  
  • Ability to effectively multi-task and establish priorities aligned with program goals and timelines  
  •  
  • Highly efficient in time management and can meet deadlines under pressure  
  •  
  • Proficient in Google Docs, Drive and/or Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint and Project  
  •  
  • Experience in tracking and reporting program activities and data  
  •  
  • Ability to manage, analyze and summarize data for program evaluation and reporting  
  •  
  • Ability and willingness to work occasional evenings and weekends as needed for the job
