Job Title:         Specialist, Social Media - Home Office

Location:         Chicago, IL/Remote/Hybrid

Full-time based on minimum of 37.5 hours per week

Grade:             506 Exempt

Reports To:     Director, Social Media

Position Summary:

The Social Media Specialist will execute upon proven social media strategies to raise concern and awareness of Alzheimer’s disease and the Alzheimer’s Association; playing a key role in cultivating relationships with constituents through social conversation, while maintaining a consistent brand voice and identity across social platforms.

Responsibilities

Essential functions and responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

  • Post and schedule approved content from editorial calendar to social media platforms.
  • Act as community monitor, responding to and assessing conversations on social media channels and blog content posts for sentiment and user interactions.
  • Analyze and provide insights of social media campaign results.
  • Assist with driving traffic and engagement.
  • Research new social channels and trends to support the goals of the Association.
  • Work within a publishing platform.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in journalism, marketing, advertising, communications, graphics or related field or equivalent
  • 1-3 years’ experience managing social media for a business or organization
  • Excellent writing and copy editing skills
  • Keen understanding of social media platforms
  • Experience working with non-profits and / or knowledge of health issues within social platforms a big plus

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:

  • Self-motivated, self- starter, with great attention to detail and ability to manage multiple assignments simultaneously
  • Excellent communications skills 
  • Ability to collaborate with people at all levels of the organization
  • Highly organized
  • Team player with a focus on attaining goals
