Job Description

The Senior Director, Health Systems Strategy serves as the lead representative of the Alzheimer’s Association in its work with some of the largest and most complex health care organizations in the United States and supervises their assigned members of the regional Health Systems sales team to meet the Association’s Health Systems goals, both nationally and regionally. They lead engagement with organizations such as large health care delivery systems, payers, and national associations to achieve strategic objectives of the Association, particularly improving equitable access to timely and accurate diagnosis and quality care for Alzheimer’s disease and other dementias.

They achieve the Alzheimer’s Association’s objectives through consultative sales to increase the uptake of effective clinical practices. This senior account management position works collaboratively across departments to increase early detection, diagnosis, disclosure and care planning and management for individuals living with dementia and their families.

Responsibilities

Essential functions and responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

  • Leads Association engagement with assigned health care organizations, such as payers, quality improvement organizations and national medical associations, to increase the Association’s influence and meet the Association’s Health Systems goals, through a consultative sales model. Cultivates productive relationships with key decision makers and champions in health care organizations and contributes to increased visibility, credibility, relevance and influence for the Association in its engagement with the health care industry.
  • Hires and manages assigned Health Systems sales positions, and/or provides ongoing coaching and mentoring as a strategic advisor to Health Systems Directors in their consultative role with health systems, to support their business growth and outcomes. 
  • Utilizes professional experience and expertise to inform the work of the Association with health systems, contributing to the health systems strategy, advising on operational priorities and on the development of health systems products, and helping to develop strategic sales readiness across the Health Systems sales team.
  • Partners with other Association staff for coordinated, strategic engagement with prioritized health systems accounts.
  • Advise on the identification and implementation of health systems account portfolios, nationally and in regional markets, to ensure adherence to the enterprise strategy and drive business value and results.
  • Advise on business modeling, prioritization planning, reporting metrics and monitoring, to accelerate business results.
  • Works with other Alzheimer’s Association staff and with health systems accounts on evaluation of systems-based programs and products for ADRD clinical practice improvement. Assesses an account’s readiness, capacity, needs, and interests and uses this assessment to guide products and solutions to offer.   • Provides training and technical guidance to Health Systems Sales team members as needed.
  • Maintains awareness of industry trends, best-practices, and evolving technologies in order to introduce innovation in product & resource development of sales strategies and resource.

Qualifications 

  • Masters (Healthcare, Healthcare Administration, Business, etc)
  • Demonstrates 8 or more years of experience in health care sales, working for or influencing care delivery within a large health system, payer, professional association, federal/state government health agency or similar
  • Demonstrates 8 or more years of experience cultivating productive working relationships with executive level and other senior decision-makers in client or partner organizations.

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities 

  • Demonstrated knowledge and expertise in health policy issues affecting healthcare delivery and understanding of business and market trends in health care.
  • Possesses extensive knowledge of relevant aspects of health systems and health care operations, such as person-centered care, access to care, quality measurement, and payment and policy issues.
  • Experience in general health care administration, developing strategy, and implementing successful programs to improve clinical practice in large and complex health ecosystems preferred.
  • Experience in conducting clinical quality improvement including encouraging providers to adopt evidence-based care models, providing coaching on quality improvement, and monitoring and analyzing data to achieve improved health outcomes in large health systems preferred
  • Experience in account management or consultative sales 5 Proficiency with Microsoft Office required; familiarity with Google Suite preferred 6 Familiarity with EMR/HER, population health management, and analytics software strongly preferred
  • Ability and willingness to work occasional evenings and weekends as needed for the job
  • Ability and willingness to travel up to 50-75%, by ground and air transport.
  • Must possess valid driver’s license and proof of insurance.
  • Knowledge of CRM software preferred.
