Status:                         Exempt – Full Time

Grade/Range:             208 / $59,100 - $75,400 - $91,600

Overview

The Alzheimer's Association leads the way to end Alzheimer's and all other dementia — by accelerating global research, driving risk reduction and early detection, and maximizing quality care and support. Founded in 1981, the Northern California and Northern Nevada Chapter operates out of its main office in San Jose, California with regional offices in 10 other locations. This position will work in the Fresno office and supervise Program staff.  

The Regional Director, Fresno, Madera and Merced Area, works collaboratively with other community organizations and provides leadership in support of the Association’s mission. The Regional Director represents and champions the Chapter’s initiatives among our constituents and volunteers in the Fresno and Madera Area. An ideal candidate will be familiar with senior, aging and medical provider networks, possess strong networking skills, have experience working with volunteers, and is bilingual English/Spanish.

This position serves as the primary liaison between the Alzheimer’s Association, Northern California and Northern Nevada Chapter, its volunteers, and the local communities in the Fresno and Madera area. The Regional Director will recruit and mobilize volunteer, community and corporate support to reach strategic goals as set out in the strategic plan and beyond. 

Principal Responsibilities

  • Represent and champion the Chapter’s initiatives among our staff, constituents and volunteers in the Fresno and Madera Area.
  • Engage in public awareness and outreach strategies to increase constituent engagement in support of the Association’s strategic objectives.
  • Work collaboratively with other community organizations and provides leadership in support of the Association’s mission.
  • Identify, recruit, train and manage high impact volunteers who will assist the organization in increasing concern and awareness and growing revenue.
  • Work in close partnership with the Special Events Manager(s) to ensure events are successful; and to expand revenues and public awareness for the annual Fresno and Merced Walks and The Longest Day.
  • Work with Chief Program Officer and Education Manager to plan and implement education programs for families in the Fresno and Madera Area.
  • Oversee the day-to-day operations of the Alzheimer’s Association, Fresno Office.
  • Partner with communications team to identify potential subjects and opportunities for earned media, social media and web content.
  • Present curriculum for Alzheimer’s Association programs and deliver other community presentations as needed
  • Identify Ambassadors for the Congressional districts in the area, and work with them to develop Legislative Action Teams to support their work.  
  • Strengthen relationships between Association representatives and members of state and federal legislatures.

Knowledge/Skills/Abilities/Education

  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience in the responsibilities for this position
  • Demonstrated track record working in the community, cultivating contacts and establishing collaborative relationships
  • Experience required in non-profit management, fundraising and volunteer development
  • 3-5 years community marketing and outreach experience required
  • Experience working with individuals with Alzheimer’s or related disorders and their families.
  • Experience establishing relationships and building trust within diverse communities
  • Bilingual English/Spanish preferred
  • Excellent organizational and project management skills
  • Strong public speaking skills
  • Experience working with individuals with Alzheimer’s or related disorders and their families.
