POSITION SUMMARY

This position is responsible for implementing the Chapter’s Care & Support volunteer-powered program delivery strategy and engaging with organizations to encourage community mobilization to include under-served, rural, and priority populations.

While the Association is currently working remotely, upon a return to the office, this position will be based in Albuquerque, New Mexico.

This position reports to the local chapter Program Director.

JOB RESPONSIBILITIES

Increase reach of Alzheimer’s Association Common Programs with special emphasis on increasing participation among communities that have typically had low rates of engagement with the chapter based on LEAP data.


Build and expand the number of Alzheimer’s Association community educators, community representatives, support group facilitators and other community volunteers using the Volunteer Recruitment plan to enhance organization visibility and programmatic reach within the assigned area. 


Engage, train and manage relationships with community volunteers and conduct annual performance evaluations (Mission Conversations).


Ensure that any grant deliverables are met within assigned territory.


Represent the chapter as needed at community events and networking groups.


Using the Community Development Model and Leap data, collaborate with community partners to conduct annual Community Forums in order to develop an informed and community-focused plan for service delivery. 


Assist in identifying and developing new, sustainable strategic community partnerships, key stakeholders and volunteer supporters in an effort to increase the reach of the Association.


Become a Personify “super user”, and other database program systems and ensures timely entry of program data into Personify or other Association databases


Respond to information & referral requests using established resources and tools.  This includes following protocols in connecting individuals to the Helpline contact center to be referred to appropriate services.  Provide follow up services to individuals as appropriate.


Conduct care consultations with care providers and family members when referred by the helpline or when constituents request this service directly. 


Build referral partnerships with social service agencies, service providers and congregations to identify prospective volunteers.


Analyze service data to identify gaps in delivery and create opportunities for increased volunteer engagement. 


Maintains accurate records of program and event participation and other metrics.


Support the implementation of the chapter’s health systems strategy. 


Assist with project management of annual chapter education conferences and related events.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS

BA/BS degree or equivalent professional experience in non-profit program delivery.


2 years of experience in managing volunteers.


1-2 years of experience in community outreach, community mobilization or organizational capacity building projects/initiatives.


Bilingual Spanish speaking preferred.


Demonstrated success working on a team to identify, create and launch strategic partnerships.


Demonstrated success working with diverse populations, volunteers, staff, and external contacts to build and maintain successful collaborations.


Demonstrated success managing volunteer-led community education programs and caregiver support groups, with experience in recruitment, training, engagement, supervision and evaluation of volunteers.


Ability to anticipate, identify, organize and/or analyze growth opportunities and make programmatic recommendations to Chapter leadership.


Ability to coach and develop volunteer talent.


Ability to work with a wide range of people including persons with dementia, family and professional caregivers, corporate partners, staff, volunteers, legislators and public policy officials


Ability to identify, organize and/or analyze various projects and tasks


Strong computer skills, proficient with Microsoft Office products, Google suite and; experience with, or ability to rapidly learn the Personify CRM database and volunteer management system.


Strong communication skills in person, print, and electronically. 


Ability and willingness to work evenings and weekends as required for the job.


Ability and willingness to travel within the assigned territory by car. Travel in this case, is considered time spent away from the office, in the community, to fulfill the job goals.


While most travel is the same day, occasional overnight travel or air travel may be required. Must have a valid driver’s license, access to a reliable vehicle, good driving record and proof of automobile insurance.


Must be able to lift 35lbs on a regular basis
