Job Description


The Program Manager will be responsible for leading and implementing the strategic delivery of care and support services to a region of our service area.  This will involve managing volunteers and partnering with organizations to deliver community education programs, support groups to individuals living with dementia, key family and friends, healthcare providers and the general public.  In addition, Program Managers provide care consultations as needed within their assigned region. It will also involve significant outreach and community engagement to develop and facilitate appropriate partnerships. 


* Lead the strategic implementation strategy for the delivery and evaluation of care and support programs within assigned territory
* Coordinates local education event like our conferences and research nights
* Assists in outreach efforts and builds working relationships with physicians, service providers, care facilities and other stakeholders who collaborate on Association initiatives.
* Established and update territory specific resources and conduct care consultations as requested 
* Promotes opportunities for additional engagement with the Association
* Works to assure timely and effective public relations and marketing of programs
* Remains knowledgeable and current in information related to Alzheimer's and related diseases as well as national, state, and local initiatives that affect the targeted population
* Ability to build effective internal and external relationship networks including supporting others to enthusiastically work towards common objectives
* Detail oriented, adaptable, organized and able to successfully prioritize and manage multiple priorities
* Anticipate and identify, organize and analyze growth opportunities
* Excellent presentation and facilitation skills that reflect an understanding of different learning modalities, group process, and cultural diversity
* Provides mentoring, training, and assistance in the recruitment and retention of volunteers, with the intention of building out a more vibrant volunteer-driven program in the areas of program education delivery and support groups.
* In the first year, this position has an intense focus on building a more robust volunteer program, especially for the organizations portfolio of common programs in order to grow programming
* Work with chapter leadership to establish strategic initiatives, tactics, and measures that move chapter toward engaging an active volunteer base to donate 1:1 staff to volunteer hours 
* Lead community and volunteer service teams within assigned territory with special attention to increasing participation among minority, rural, and interfaith volunteers
* Met outcomes for significant increases in: volunteer hours contributed, engagement of volunteers as full mission partners, diversity of volunteers to reflect constituent population, and volunteer satisfaction. 
* Implement a recognition strategies and work with departments to create recognition events and activities
* Maintain volunteer training certification and report on volunteer activity 
* Develop strong relationships within the community to foster a positive image such that community members and students will volunteer for the Alzheimer's Association 
* Develop and cultivate professional relationships with key internal & external partners/organizations, corporate partners, and civic relationships to provide volunteer opportunities and organizational support of Chapter programs
* Works to assure that requirements for grant-funded programs in the assigned territory are met
* Submit and complete program reports, event participation, and grant-related paperwork in a timely manner
* Excellent public speaking skills; must demonstrate an ability to represent the organization with poise, confidence, diplomacy, and professionalism 


* Bachelor's Degree required, Master's Degree preferred or equivalent work experience in public health, gerontology, social work or a related field
* Ability to travel to perform job duties-70% travel
* Superior self-management skills, independent initiative and ability to collaborate are essential
* Ability to work with a wide range of people including persons with dementia, family and professional caregivers, diverse populations, corporate partners, foundation staff, volunteers, legislators and public policy officials
* Effective written and oral communication skills; with impeccable attention to detail
* Proficient in Microsoft Office products, especially Word, Excel, PowerPoint and Google applications; able to perform all training required for organizational CRM system, Personify360
* Experience in volunteer recruitment, management, and support
* Ability to analyze information, course correct, and make timely, appropriate decisions
* Ability to collaborate and work well as part of a team; flexibility, adaptability, and good humor
* Ability to work and succeed in dynamic, fast-paced, and results-oriented environment
* Appreciation of cultural and ethnic diversity, especially with respect to outreach to underserved communities
* Bilingual in English and Spanish preferred
* Florida State driver’s license and proof of insurance, and access to dependable automobile 
* All staff members are required to comply with all Association policies, procedures, standards, and applicable regulatory requirements
* All staff members promote and/or participate in Association-wide programs and initiatives as requested
* All staff members are required to support and participate in special events and fund development activities as requested
* All staff members are expected to support and participate in formal advocacy and public policy activities as requested and informally advocate for those we serve and the programs and services offered by the Region
