Job Description

Position Summary:

The Development Coordinator provides assistance and support in the planning, implementation, and growth of the Walk to End Alzheimer’s under the direction of the Director, Walk to End Alzheimer’s with an emphasis on growing Walk to End Alzheimer’s events, enhancing event experience, and ensuring continued revenue growth.

Responsibilities:

Essential functions and responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

  • Providing support to volunteer-led committees towards the successful implementation of a mass-market walk event. This includes but is not limited to: aiding in committee recruitment; providing supports to committee leaders in management of the committee; and actively engaging committee members in their individual work tasks.  Using current connections and develop new connections to support the Association in building these committees
  • Providing ongoing support to Walk to End Alzheimer’s teams towards maximizing fundraising and the overall event experience. This includes recruiting new teams, engaging returning teams, coaching teams on successful fundraising, and recognizing teams for their success.  Working with both friends and family and corporate teams as assigned
  • Assisting with Walk to End Alzheimer’s planning committee and logistics
  • Assisting with procuring sponsorships to support Walk to End Alzheimer’s, as assigned
  • Assisting with Walk to End Alzheimer’s wraparound events including team recruitment and engagement with an emphasis on full mission engagement
  • Attending networking events and groups on behalf of Association as assigned
  • Assisting with media partnerships and marketing opportunities as assigned

Qualifications:

  • Degree preferred in a related field or equivalent work experience and education
  • 1-3 years of progressive, professional experience in non-profit field
  • Fundraising experience with an emphasis on mass market events preferred

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:

  • Proficiency with Microsoft office applications
  • Experience with Luminate Online preferred
  • Experience with Google Suite preferred
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills to engage effectively with volunteers, staff, and external contacts
  • Ability and willingness to work occasional evenings and weekends as needed for the job
  • Ability and willingness to travel as need to perform job duties, including providing support to additional Walks on event days
  • Ability to lift, carry and transport materials up to 30 lbs

 

Position Location: Southfield, MI

Full time or Part time: Full-time based on a 37.5 hour work week
