Salary Range: Minimum $42,100; Mid-range $53,700; Maximum $65,300

POSITION SUMMARY

This position is responsible for implementing the chapter’s Care & Support volunteer-powered program delivery strategy and engaging with organizations to encourage community mobilization to include under-served and priority populations. 

While the Association is currently working remotely, upon a return to the office, this position will be based in Denver, Colorado.

This position reports to the Director of Diversity & Inclusion.

This position is grant funded.

JOB RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Increase reach of Alzheimer’s Association Common Programs with special emphasis on increasing participation among communities that have typically had low rates of engagement with the chapter based on LEAP data.
  • Specific focus in building relations and engaging the Latino community in program and services. 
  • Build and expand the number of Alzheimer’s Association community educators, community representatives, support group facilitators and other community volunteers using the Volunteer Recruitment plan to enhance organization visibility and programmatic reach within the assigned area. 
  • Engage, train and manage relationships with community volunteers and conduct annual performance evaluations (Mission Conversations).
  • Work with the development department to build connections and prospects for our signature events and other fundraising events.
  • Ensure any grant deliverables are met within assigned territory.
  • Represent the chapter as needed at community events and networking groups.
  • Using the Community Development Model and Leap data, collaborate with community partners to conduct annual Community Forums in order to develop an informed and community-focused plan for service delivery. 
  • Identify and develop new, sustainable strategic community partnerships, key stakeholders and volunteer supporters in an effort to increase the reach of the Association.
  • Support the Early Stage Social Engagement partner-led program.
  • Build referral partnerships with social service agencies, service providers and congregations to identify prospective volunteers.
  • Analyze service data to identify gaps in delivery and create opportunities for increased volunteer engagement.
  • Support the implementation of the chapter’s health systems strategy. 
  • Track community partner engagement.
  • Support chapter education conference and fundraising events.

MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS

  • Bachelor’s degree in Education, Social Work, Human Services, Gerontology, Nursing, Public Health, or Marketing & Communication.
  • Bilingual Spanish speaking required.
  • 2 years of experience in managing volunteers.
  • 2 years of experience managing program implementation 
  • 3-5 years of experience in community outreach, community mobilization or organizational capacity building projects/initiatives.
  • Demonstrated success managing volunteer-led community education programs and caregiver support groups, with experience in recruitment, training, engagement, supervision and evaluation of volunteers.
  • Demonstrated success working on a team to identify, create and launch strategic partnerships.
  • Demonstrated success working with diverse populations, volunteers, staff, and external contacts to build and maintain successful collaborations.
  • Ability to anticipate, identify, organize and/or analyze growth opportunities and make programmatic recommendations to Chapter leadership.
  • Ability to coach and develop volunteer talent.
  • Ability to make data-driven decisions.
  • Strong computer skills, proficient with Microsoft Office products, Google suite and; experience with, or ability to rapidly learn the Personify CRM database and volunteer management system.
  • Strong communication skills in person, print, and electronically. 
  • Ability and willingness to work evenings and weekends as required for the job.
  • Ability and willingness to travel up to 90% within the assigned territory by car. Travel in this case, is considered time spent away from the office, in the community, to fulfil the job goals.
  • While most travel is the same day, occasional overnight travel or air travel may be required. Must have a valid driver’s license, access to a reliable vehicle, good driving record and proof of automobile insurance.
  • Lift up to 25lbs.
