The Home Office seeks a talented and energetic individual for the Associate Director of Walk. S/he will serve as a team member of the Walk to End Alzheimer's team under the Sr. Director of Constituent Events to act as the primary training and consulting liaison as well as a subject matter expert of key areas of Walk to End Alzheimer's.
The ideal candidate will have experience with regional walk events, developing curriculum and training. This position is home-office based at any city in the U.S. ideally located near a major airport.
Essential functions and responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
- Participate as a member of the Walk to End Alzheimer’s team, working with Chapters to deliver training, identify opportunities and work directly with them on growth plans, strategies and tactics within our event standards and best practices.
- Monitor, analyze and determine strategies based on quantitative and qualitative results (data analysis or other).
- Lead nationwide, regional and local training sessions for Chapter staff and volunteers.
- Participate as a member of the team to develop and deliver curriculum year-round, including identifying key growth opportunities.
- Support consulting and training efforts with assigned Chapter walk programs.
- Support development of nationwide on-boarding and training curriculum for Walk to End Alzheimer’s including face to face trainings, web based trainings and additional resources and support
- Bachelor’s degree.
- 5 years event management and training experience required in a non-profit environment.
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities
- VHA mass market event experience preferred.
- Successful experience of organizing Walk events with ability to adapt to the program appropriately to our organization.
- Team player that has the ability to interface with various levels of staff and volunteers.
- Effectively multi-task, establish priorities, and work in a fast paced environment. Efficient in time management and can meet deadlines under pressure.
- Detail-oriented and strong organizational skills.
- Excellent written, oral, and communication skills. (Includes presentation delivery, conveying ideas, and instructing effectively.)
- Ability to work and make sound judgments independently, and to complete projects with minimal supervision.
- Understanding of various computer systems and databases. Proficient in Microsoft Office. Experience with Luminate a plus.
- Ability to travel up to 50%-70% of time as required.
